Honest Don ive never let a dog hunt up. If a wanted a dog to hunt up I'd of bought a f***ing hound. Haven't got time chasing a dog around. You start letting a dog f**k about trying to find shit that isnt there , just scenting from all scents around the land after its missed a run. Then your the one wrong mate. You let a young dog start learning to do that. Doing its own thing it will think that's the norm every times its slipped and misses.

You know when you get a dog you give it a name mate haha if you get to know the dog an actually bond with it an that it comes back to you when you shout that name haha haha even coursing dogs, it’s a bit of a myth that they are daft an don’t come back, some do fcuk off, but work them regular an they get the crack haha , but not all of them, not by a country mile haha ffs don’t make me get a coursing dog to show you that it is possible haha but again dogs know the difference between hunting up an running off slip, I hunted all my lamping dogs an none hunted up on lamp, or out ferreting the hunt up till I tell em then they switch on to the warren, same as shooting they will hunt up but not run in, you need to get out more often with dogs mate or just stay quiet haha

Scotty a could have a yard full of dogs. A could ring a fella up tomorrow and if theres a dog there drive upto Cumbria. Same with a few fellas over Rochdale & Chorley way i keep in contact with. A  Know a few in Manchester too that ive ran with back in day. Ive got there contact. Getting a dog wouldn't be a problem mate. To be fair ive done it had many great days out good memories stored in my head. Ive nothing to incriminate me what so ever. Like a said that lad off here a went out with for a day out. Took me to some land. f***ing red hot. The daft c**t had only been caught few weeks before. A told him when we was running away from that op Galileo. You've nothing on your phone to incriminate us have ya. No no mate. The c**t had loads stored. The coppers were like here we go. Am thinking dum c**t. Was lucky that day nothing come about it. But that day a thought wtf 6 hours chase. A might has well have stayed local and had 3 4 runs. Good runs. Got one run lol.

Yer Auld ma was wana confiscate your dogs off ye the other week said there wasted in your hands locked up in cages all day she was willing to take them off you and rehome them and look after them herself. Lol

Your talking lurchers lamping & ferreting. Lamping you can turn lamp off. So dog knows when you turn lamp off the dog will come back. Ferreting dog knows to stay around Warren or near by bit of cover. Im talking big land not f***ing small graving fields or small cropey land.  A coursing bred dog wants to be on land that goes for miles. Dog in the distance sometimes a dot until you look through binos. A dont want that dog f***ing off doing its own thing. I wont even move from the spot ive slipped the dog. Unless it runs the hare out of sight. Most my dogs have brought the kill back to hand. When ive been out with lads and they've gone looking for dog. Ive told them your better off staying put for a few mins. Because if it comes back through cover somewhere else and we've gone. The dog will find its way back there not daft. Thats if they've not been taught to hunt up.

My mother was looking to rehome a dog that's been on land hunting up and owners haven't had time to catch the c**t because filth was driving over on land lol.

So dogs are scared of dark an always come back when lamp goes off haha haha your mental mate, iv owned an saw loads a dogs than can run big land an still do the other jobs your mentioning, like I said it’s obviously beyond you to get a dog out often enough to the point it actually knows the score, all your love ever had is point an slip dogs by sound of it, that’s fine if that’s what floats your boat but don’t think that’s all they capable off haha haha

My deerhound cross ranges about 50 yards in front of me daytime, but on the lamp is straight back when the lamp goes off

My previous two, a beddy type and a deerhound cross were the same.

I can’t remember any specific training for them to do this, other than recall.

Maybe I got lucky , but all the running dogs I’ve had were more or less the same, except for those damned Salukis, those fuckers were a law until themselves ! LOL !
