Mate from what I've seen ,your terrier's are in top order,you can send me them 2 young fluffy ones if you just got the 1/2 dogs then it's cheap enough to bang the raw into them,you defrost it the night before in the fridge...even when I had 5/6 terriers and a runner or 2  in runs,I was probably only spending £100 a month on meat and £30 for biscuits to keep them all fed,lurchers used to keep me topped up with game...id be shooting rabbits, pigeons,ducks,picking up roadkill,give it a quick sniff lol,in the back of the truck,my dogs will eat veg peelings boiled up in with the raw lol you do what you got to do... all down to how committed you are imo, personally when I'm in too something,it dictates my life.... everything else comes  second

I can remember as a kid going to the dinner halls in local schools and collecting all the waste in them big metal pots/buckets with the lockable lids for the dogs in kennels, they dogs were bouncing an healthy as fcuk an that’s what they lived in most the time with odd bit kibble chucked in haha

Daniel you want the black dog you come and get it..winter time my mate gets all fallen stock I start mince stuff then tbh mate just the heat  flies everything i couldn't be arsed with smell and all during the winter lol bit seriously if your looking a terrier I've a black and tan lakeland out of my old dog or you can have that wee black pup because I've a rake of stuff about me

It is a faff, again, this morning he gulped his food down, half a pound of mince, couple of hours ago tried him with the rest of the sleeve and he wouldn't touch, gave him a raw egg cos he lapped it up yesterday and didn't bother. 

To mess about like this you really need a separate fridge/freezer because handling raw meat, then chucking it back in a dish and back in your fridge you're going to contaminate it sooner or later. Lol

Mate just my opinion but I had a little dog here wouldn't touch his food a couple of days off a bit of hunger  he's not as fussy lol bit half a pound in morning and last thing at night to me is plenty

ya pup should be off mooching from ten week old mine be on a lad while im coursing all season then next spring be on them getting em hunting up once the dog knows your the one to follow they return mate

he was getting fed in the morning mate 7/8ish then 5/half5ish and then back of 9/10 mate the middle feed was never as much as morning and night more so a tide over that’s why he won’t be touching it if you’ve fed him a couple of hours ago he will still be full

Bangers, so all you want is a “ point and slip” dog ?

I consider myself a “dog worker” , not a “ dog trainer”, but I start a pup/ young dog on a 30 yard long leash, it trains them not to range too far, and to return when you call them.

30’ long leash and a rabbit skin training dummy. Easy to teach your dog recall, retrieving and not to range too far ; 

You will cover far more ground with a dog that quarters a field and ranges about 30 yards around you, and find more game than just “point and slip”.

Each to their own i suppose but it’s daft to denigrate a decently trained dog that finds its own quarry but is still under control.

Mate you cant tell me how to bring a dog on. When a fell ill the dogs i had on at the time went to kipper. The man heard through the grapevine about the dogs i was kenneling and what they were doing. Only credit I could take was for showing them the land putting stuff infront of them. Every thing else was in the breeding.

From 14 months old both dogs were at the top of their game. A could slip them " if the dogs lost them in cover or the odd holes on edge of the land.  I'd stay where I'd slipped the dogs and they'd come straight back after looking about the area where they'd lost it.

After that they'd be straight back. Wouldn't start hunting up they'd come back to me. Im not into that letting a dog lose its head doing its own thing hunting up , scenting quartering the land. Thats okay for every day to day all round box standard lurcher. Sounds like coursing changed over the years from lads listening to rabbiting lurcher men who've had odd lamping hares.  lol

But old coursing day time men wouldn't be letting dogs do their own thing. You hear Marcus mc on a few of them dvds . Shouting because the dogs started to do its own thing after missing its kill.  Think it was Kim that did it a few times. I like to slip the dog get the kills , dog back on lead. off the land not waiting for dog in the middle of the land hunting up.
