Nice little earner scrapping them . Cheers.

No stabbings, no street robberies, no sexual assaults…… 123 arrests in total starting from a few weeks in the build up to the event, so 43 for people travelling there and eighty at the event itself. All drink and some drug related, one for a man who punched a horse ! lol Police have said they were arresting for much lower levels of crime and they believe that made for a safer event……maybe the Met could take a leaf out of their book for some of London’s more…..culturally enriching events ? I wonder if they will ? lol 2

Everyone waits in a queue and are extremely polite, the bins are used and you dont see a scrap of litter and there is not a hint of trouble from the 1000's of people attending. Its a shame it never gets mentioned on MSM, although probably don't fit in with the agenda.

Well over 50 years ago there used to be a gypsy family appear at a lane near Gosforth park , just outside of Newcastle. These weren’t “travellers”, I’d guess they were true Romany ; the man had dark, swarthy skin , green eyes and a sort of ginger Afro ! The woman was a caracature of the old gypsy women that use to come round selling pegs and “ lucky heather “ The kids were barefoot , scruffy, dressed in rags and looked at you with a mixture of bewilderment and distrust. They had an assortment of chickens and dogs, usually Yorkshire terrier and Jack Russells in tea chests, ( remember them? ), and the odd lurcher. They had a horse drawn vardo and a battered old two berth caravan, but no motor, they relied on others to tow the caravan from stop to stop. It was my turn to tow them to the gypsy gathering on Newcastle Town. Moor for the Hoppings, before the council banned them. I never saw them again when I went abroad, I guess the parents have died and I wonder what happened to the kids, probably taken into care. A way of life gone. Cheers.

Leo Sayer 3,633
I take people as I find them, don't get me wrong I wouldn't want travellers as my neighbours or on the fields facing my gaff. But 90% that frequent my little buisness and that is pretty much every week. They are all big spenders and are polite and no bother. The 10% that are rude or try it on, well my shop manger is like a pit bull. She takes no prisoners and tells them straight. We had some same families coming inn for over 15 years or more. I often have the crack over the old days of coursing and such like and banter with them. We had Tyson and Paris fury in. One of Tysons younger brothers was doing a big land scaping job local and him and all his lads came in everyday for a few weeks for duration of the job and were fine. Had 3 trannys full this morning in all roofers off to do a job. Now am not saying they wasn't or was to rip some old granny off. Am just saying they polite in my place that's all.
