Around 9 years ago I was working in Sheffield and I noticed an elderly man struggling with his cases as the "Zombies" around him just ignored him. I went over and helped him carry his cases to the bus stop and noticed that he was wearing his war medals.

It turned out he was making his way to France for the D-Day festival, it was a honour to meet him and could almost feel myself getting choked up in his presence when listening to a hero of a man in his final years.

I don't know if I did get his name on that day but it didn't take me long to find him, RIP Cyril Elliot.

Credit where its due hats off to you. As a kid I used to carry an old lasses shopping for her when she got off the bus most weekends when we used to chill about at the top off the estate. That woman wouldnt hear a bad word said about me. Past away now bless her. But she was some character honest.
