I got a bull Russell type dog.... little prick got out earlier, when kids mate came over...Mrs was out after him...got around the corner, and he was hanging off some.poor  fellas bandog 🙈 biggest prick

I've always believed...that if you needed to add straight bull terrier blood to your earth dogs...then they are lacking in something... Lots do it on the continent etc...each to their own I suppo

Alot of big names did might have been 20, 30 yr ago but its there i reckon youve to be a serious breeder knocking litters out to get back to a level. AC did it ( some say ) and loo

Whilst even the biggest advocates of 'genuine lines' of earth dogs look at a terrier with bull blood and admire it's physique. After that, everything is going down hill work wise...

Those that breed them will say it's to strengthen snipey heads, or give them more fire, BUT you can improve all that, and retain working ability by using the right line of terrier.

All that said, if anyone is thinking of breeding such a cross, let me know, as I'll be after a new ratter soon, and I want one that's scared of the dark... 😉

The only thing I think boys use them for is because there line is starting to lack fire and instead of looking for something they'll settle for the bull dog route

Them big bull headed dogs was all the rage 10 years back,a friend came over from Germany to collect a dog ,that I travelled up north to collect, from a yard in fairness, that had some well worked dogs, talked the talk,a little too open for me personally, but ,hay ho... I jabbed, past ported it etc until he collected..I later found out he paid £2000 for an untested dog🙈 it made his dogs look pretty and strong..but didn't add anything else....them type of  dogs  look good on something that's green...when they meet something that knows the craic...they will walk, when it don't go their way..they don't make a decent plug...I've never seen one,I'd own,get more done with a steady  mixer type👍

My Wheaten Bull Terrier is about 80lbs. Too big to go to ground, too heavy to catch anything above ground, so I keep him as a guard dog.

I really don't want to sound derogatory, but judging by those photos, that dog could strip a fair bit of weight...
