In speed I think so, but it's their fabled stamina that I'd like to see put to the test, some of the claims seem impossible, but, you never know until you try it.

I think mC should take white death over for a trip,I would go over if he did,I think pronghorn can really shift.

No need, the best quarry is all within a 20 mile radius.

I remember the American woman bringing over this little greyhound bitch for the last Waterloo Cup, Cashells Evening,

Only around 24” and 45lb, it put up a great show against the British dogs, winning a few rounds.

Cheers.

I wonder if she ran it on jackrabbits?I saw one run across a road the other week, don't know how they compare to brit hares speedwise though.

I can't see why they would be any slower at their base species level, but as we know, you take a brown hare in regions that never get run and it won't be close to the quality of hares that are run often with dogs.

I would guess so, it certainly ran like it had done a bit of coursing.

”Jackrabbit” is a bit of a misnomer, as they are hares. Americans call their rabbits “cottontails “.

Cheers.

I have seen hundreds of whitetail the last month,as well as mule deer and elk,I wouldn't mind seeing a saluki on a speed goat,I think the pronghorn would smoke it though.

Lucky to see all that on your travels mate but they don't look all that do they🤔 but in saying that looking at a pronghorn I wouldn't have thought they'd clock 60👍

There was a Brit,on here years ago or moochers can’t remember which,he was a welder I think?Married an American lady, and I think he took a lurcher stateside with him?He used to knock them over with the dog,I don’t think they run at super speeds.

Out of likes 👍

I can't see them being overly rapid, but like anything, if you slip on em at a good enough distance and on terrain they love they can sometimes make dogs look silly. I've seen a red stag leave bull crosses slipped on it for dust, it was clearing ditches like they were nothing, just galloped like a horse in to the nearest wood. I've said it before, I'd love to see a good saluki on a pronghorn, and see if the rumours about their running prowess are actually true.

I remember that waterloo charts me and my pal was on the bank at the time thinking that can hang on and run tighter than your average greyhound..
