I was supposed to meet him when I was in Texas, but he had moved to New Mexico by the time I could get to Texas. I managed a day out with a pair of staghounds, only to see them get straight lined by a white tail buck on the only run of the day ! Cheers. What's the craic with them white tail charts they sound like a challenge must be good to have seen them would you say they would smoke any of our deer so to speak Quote Link to post

Ive very little experience of our deer, I’ve only really ran roe and I’ve taken them with every running dog I’ve had from whippet to beddy cross to deerhound cross. A good pal of mine took me up Scotland one time and my nine year old deer/grey took a fallow doe , in the lamp , without any drama, so I can’t really comment on deer, mate . Cheers. I remember him saying he had lived and hunted with the Red Indians in America……It turned out he was there on holiday and had a game of pool with a redneck who claimed to have Indian ancestry !
