not an expert in this , and some will disagree  , but most of the arab races  contrery to what may be popular belief  ,they use sak/greys  alot will say they are pures  but they aint ,alot came from southern turkey think sandalufa areathey are mixed with greys sloughi and fk knows what ,but these races with the arabs you can imagine there is big money involve  so winning is what its all about .its not easy today to find a good sal pure  thats not inbred to fk  or will develop heath issues

Iv saw a few pures over the years but none running proper hares in big land so wouldn’t know what they capable of tbh

i’ll show you a pure saluki is on par with out mate at some point lol 

coursing breds are breeding to type quality 

but there is plenty to choose from loads lines from same family a dogs 

saluki wise it’s always been harder to get them to use or a stud etc same today hardly any saluki breeders would want me having a pup or sell them with conditions etc 

a poacher with them living out side lol no chance

Why the snobbery, surely if you want to breed the best dogs you will place them in the hands of those walking the walk? But, even the top men aren't going out of their way to get pures, surely that's saying something?

You want to get yourself a pure deerhound put a bit of substance into them
