Yes but it died out many moons ago. The clue is in the name APBT. Not the EPBT lol. Years ago they'd fight owt over here in Victorian time. Even your Akita would have had a few quid thrown on it lol.

The APBT started getting imported here in the 80's, the game dogs of the Victorian days weren't even known as the APBT.

One does usually eventually quit or else they are picked up if the handler knows it can't win and has an ounce of empathy.

Half the dogs in the vid could probably kick it's ass. My old Whippet/stag would often break up fights between the terriers and even our pit/bulldogs. It's not about fighting or who's tougher or bigger, its just a good leader keeping the pack in order with it's mind.

As you know, only dead dogs are truly dead game so you can only breed for deep gameness to produce the dead game dogs. I don't know what percentage are curs but on those tight lines, I think not many and way less than scatter bred dogs.

Yeh and it's usually the older and cranky dogs that end up being the boss, some of the best bulldogs ever were raised with other pet dogs, their will to fight isn't really out of pure dominance like many other breeds, like the Akita for example.

Yes and like my whip/stag it's often that bitches become the pack leader, such as with most of our wives, lol. Because when getting a pup I always look for the most forward one, usually a bitch, I have had trouble with them as they mature, all trying to lead but all the dogs respected and liked the whip/stag when she was around and were on their best dog behavior.
