The old AEC Routemaster (the old London double decker busses) were all meant to have easly done over a million miles and the only reason they got rid of them was due to the modern emission laws.Bet the non smokey replacements don't last any where near that..

I was just joking , Dodge, but I remember seeing a rare Mini Cooper S being sold for many thousands and all that was used in the rebuild was the Vehicle Identification Plate ! Every thing else was replaced, body, engine, running gear , interior, the lot , but it retained its original registration even though, to all intents and purposes it was a brand new car !

Im not saying this is the case with the car you posted about .

Cheers.

Yeh course I knew that I hadn't seen the episode of afah but seeing the broom I count put two n two together lol

But I also thought you'd have a mechanicle understand and interest as wasn't you an aircraft engineer or similar I wonder how many miles those things do and how much services they require

Commercial aircraft go through very intensive servicing and checks.

The “D” check is about as near as Triggers Brush as you can get, complete strip downs of engines and airframe, down to the last nut, bolt and rivet.

A “D” check on, say, a 747 will take months and hundreds of engineers, technicians, mechanics and support staff. It’s virtually a new aircraft when it rolls out of the maintenance hanger.

Again, I was just joking, I know some cars, especially Volvos, rack up amazing mileage.

Cheers.
