Every thing else was replaced, body, engine, running gear , interior, the lot , but it retained its original registration even though, to all intents and purposes it was a brand new car ! The “D” check is about as near as Triggers Brush as you can get, complete strip downs of engines and airframe, down to the last nut, bolt and rivet. A “D” check on, say, a 747 will take months and hundreds of engineers, technicians, mechanics and support staff. It’s virtually a new aircraft when it rolls out of the maintenance hanger.
