Ok pal. I just don’t know. Why would you want a bulb on the end? Jok.

I’m being totally thick here. I have never used a probe, ever. At what point are they used? Half way through a dig, during the last parts of a dig or right from the start? Jok.

We use them to find mole runs, but also use them when digging to ferret or terriers. It means even if your a couple/few feet away you can probe down, make sure your on right track an can even heard what’s happening in the tube once you’ve found it, i been digging without one an it still works, but having one makes it easier. An you need one for moles or your gonna miss most the runs 👍

Again. Being a thick person. Are we talking about moles, rabbits, foxes. I have never had a problem digging, especially on rabbits, as have only ever used box and collar. They locate within inches and I have only ever worried about breaking through and harming my ferret. For saying that, I have had these ‘t’ bars for years. They must be available all over. Jok

All of the above jok, like you said your worried about breaking through an harming the ferret then a probe when your close will let you know exactly when your gonna break through, aye they been about for years I can remember the old timers using them long before the deben was popular. Iv been let down many times by the ferret finder, an also dig down the side of the tube a few times on both rabbits an foxes, but like I said for moles it’s not even a case of making life easier, you won’t catch half as much without one

Going to tell you a funny story. Some guys came over from Germany on a you for me trip. I went boar shooting ,they to see someone catching rabbits. We went onto one of my perms and did all the usual with nets, locators, silence etc etc.. anyway, using my locator box, I asked for total quiet, ‘these guys were camera clicking like crazy’, I indicated that my ferret was very close to the surface and was probably on a rabbit. Without too much ado  I plunged my hand into the earth and as luck would have I had the rabbit. All caught on camera. Those guys bought me a few beers. All without a probe. Jok.

Happens most times we out jok, either rabbit turns back into hole an goes back down to meet a ferret or the ferret catches it jist as it’s about to bolt, either way arm up tube an pull bunny out like a magician haha part of reason I don’t like working other folks ferrets as beem a few times iv been shoulder deep up a tube an had a ferret lock into my hand haha never ever have I had a home bred, child reared ferret bit me or anybody else tho haha

We use a road pin, just flatten the piont on the end,

Put some tape, hosepipe or sponge on the handle and your sound,

Handy to tie the dog up aswell,20161113_140645.jpg.374e31acde5be61b5a2693863bb3795c.jpg
