Watching the remembrance at the cenotaph now.

I do my own bit for remembrance, researching medals, visiting local lads graves abroad, fishing days for help for heroes etc etc .....but I just can't get onboard with the official remembrance day. Fckin traitor king who stays quiet while the country gets invaded, churches being pulled down and mosques but up while taking oaths to defend the realm and faith. Blair stood there.

Nah fck that. I'll honour our war dead by trying to do my best for the rest of the year....not taking part in any of these attention seeking circuses. Lammy is laying a wreath now 🙄

Apologies if I offend anyone.

A post as relevant today as it was last year.

All sorts of points of view on here but i'd like to add some personal comments. I was honoured and humbled today to present the Poppy Wreath on behalf of my community council at the memorial plaque in my home area, where the names of the fallen within my parish were read out. Family members fought and i still struggle to believe that my Grandcha Harold, one of the kindest and most gentle men i ever met held a gun and shot at people. So i will always say, "We will remember them"

Cheers. Aled
