Stan Boardman. " the Germans bombed our chip shops".

He should moan. Not only did they bomb our chip shops they bombed Old Trafford. We had to play our games at Man City. Barstewards.

I remember my mum telling me about the Germans bombing Manors Goods Station in Newcastle. Our house was only about 500 yards away, my granny would say” eeh, there was butter running down Falconer street “.

And we think we’ve got it bad these days ……
