Borr 9,197
Sorting couple of lure boxes and eagerly awaiting some spikey shad 50mm lures in the post , hopefully this rain eases off in the next week or two. Also got my eye on a nice hto rod or two on offer, as I tend to use my dropshot rod for everything or a rod that's too heavy for what I catch , and I mostly fish jigheads now. 4 Quote Link to post
neil r 2,112
Just had 45 minutes on a little pond with one of my new xul outfits . Had these 5 on a 1.1 inch nano minnow and 0.3gm size 14 homemade jig head . Even though they were only small , biggest being about 8-10oz they all put a good bend in the 0.2-0.8gm rod . If it wasn’t as windy I’d have dropped to a 0.15gm size 18 to try and get some roach 8 3 Quote Link to post
neil r 2,112
Just on a farm pond with the xul gear , it’s tough going but had this decent one on a 1.1inch nano minnow on a size 14 0.4gm jig head 8 Quote Link to post
neil r 2,112
Had a quick go with the xul gear on this little pond this afternoon . Ended up with 9 perch and 1 roach in just under an hour on a 0.3gm size 14 jighead and purple 1.1inch nano minnow . Missed a fair few delicate takes because I had no feeling at all in my fingers and couldn’t react quick enough so I came home 5 1 Quote Link to post

Borr 9,197
Three hours in drizzle and rain , tried a couple of different lures for couple of hours , ended up going with ol faithful managed one small jack saw it take at my feet, at least not a blank, but think I've had enough of canal for a bit ... 4 Quote Link to post
neil r 2,112
Just had a couple of hours on the canal and the little pond I’ve been fishing . Struggled on the canal because the wind was holding the 0.3gm jighead up so I went on the pond and unusually never had a perch and only had one fish which was this 2lbish hybrid on a 20mm crazy fish whitebait Edited March 4 by neil r 3 Quote Link to post
neil r 2,112
Just had a quick go on the canal with the xul gear but it was coloured for some reason and had loads of pieces of weed floating about so I only had a few casts with a 0.45gm size 14 jighead and a flouro orange 20mm whitebait . Had a small jack but the weed was annoying me so I went on the little pond again for half an hour and had 2 perch and a big roach about 1-1/2lb on a 0.2gm size 14 jighead and a 27mm junebug nano minnow 2 Quote Link to post
