Was a real rough wet night. We had a lot of rain and Dartmoor had 106mm in some places. That will keep the dust down. Cheers Arry

If I didn't have some many hobbies I would go more often. Good way to stay fit, lovely welcoming people. Cracking day out loved it. Cheers Arry
mackem 30,931 Posted Thursday at 21:00 Report Share Posted Thursday at 21:00 Supposed to be going ice fishing today so I went to Quebec side to meet my Brother in Law,got to the river and can't fish there as the ice has open patches so its not thick enough. My brother in law headed off to fish a lake near his house,I decided to walk along the edge of the river to have a look see, ended up doing just over 11 miles. I can see something out on the ice,its a bald eagle,as I am trying to get close a bird takes flight from a tree right above me,another bald eagle absolutely huge,I ended up seeing three in total, really enjoyed the experience.

mackem 30,931 Posted yesterday at 22:16 Report Share Posted yesterday at 22:16 (edited) Been up to where my lady is from, people having a dip in a plunge pool on the river at -20,I put my hand in and lost the feeling in my fingers,my Mrs said its not bad once your in.Theres a skating rink on the edge of the river for kids to practice at night after school with little solar lights, people have cleared the snow to make skating lanes, someones put a bench on the ice to rest on with a note asking for it to be put up on the bank in the spring,my lady used to skate to school and enjoys all this. The only people I have ever met who actually enjoy this level of cold are nordic,Russian and Canadians. Edited yesterday at 22:18 by mackem
