BMI 65 Trap care

Recommended Posts

I have a BMI 65 trap. I now know how to get the spring to the correct location The spring went "round the corner", that aside, the bait holder is now wedged on one of the corners. Has anyone else had such a problem and how did they overcome this slight inconvenience to setting the trap correctly.

I have had it a few times and i believe it is a design fault its is easy enough to return to its proper shape with a trap setter but i cannot explain how . I have used several types of Bodygrips   but that is the only one that has this problem and now only use  the 116 which  much better and free from this problem .

Fcuking hell man don’t he scared to manhandle the thing ? an please don’t try an set your bait on it holder ? after youve set the trap, don’t really use them for bait here but if that’s what gets you results who am I laugh ???

Those trigger wires are great for threading unshelled monkey nuts, drilled hazel nuts , bacon rind etc, onto.

Or as in the picture ,half a Kinder  Egg pod filled with peanut butter?20220620_184649.jpg.7676497435b7f94c96a8b2ee2917a4ca.jpg

But ,yes; best bait up before setting the trap  . Stumpy isn't  a cool nickname....

The trap trigger will move about on the bmi but go back with a little wiggle,  don't no how you manage get the spring round one corner as when you set the spring you should squeeze the spring  so both loops meet in middle when jaws are open , I use corn cob as bait for the squirrel with a bmi and there deadly , they will also catch without  bait on runs but I tend to bait mine up with bit of corn
