Back home by 8am

So after the 3am stalk last week and seen nowt , this week I changed farms 

I arrived at 4.30 and had a good look around as these fields are very large and open with 3 major routes back to the wood , where all the deer come from 

any way a herd of 34 fallow were seen  with the xq38 and by there selfs 6 roe and one buck in toe , so I set up 100 yards from the route back to the wood and just sat in the truck drinking tea and waited till they made a move slowly they were making there way back to the wood , I could have easy took fallow , but thought better of it being the size of the sods , so went for this buck instead 

great neck shot , 95g SST and fell on the spot , in the truck , and in the fridge all by 

11am

I think stav it’s ll about getting the timing right , my days of sitting in high seats and crawling around are well over , I get just as much pleasure as watching them and than a sneaky ambush from truck

Spotting with thermal mate , quite above board , so I’m not biting on that one 

and if I can sit in the warm at 22 degrees drinking tea  at 5.30 in the morning only a fool would reject that for -3 out side freezing yer tits off

But then I forgot that you northern lads are ard ‍,  and the southern lads are only pussyfooting about

Wow, and I thought I was out early. 

I love the elements but the cold makes my skin worse. Still have to be out there though.

I still prefer to be out hunting for my quarry , makes you feel alive.

I suppose when I get old I may prefer the comfort of armchair hunting
