cragman 2,631
Has anyone had a go at drey poking at night in the dark? Someone standing by with a gun and lamp or NV while somebody else pokes the drey? I’m sure I read on here somebody mentioning they had done it. I’m still getting a request to remove some greys and I can’t shoot during the day because of the public and trapping is the same, too many prying eyes, cheers Quote Link to post
PLEDGEY 493
Night vision wouldn't be any good. If you look into trees at night you can't see much of anything as the I/R reflects off of what ever is closest. Even with a lamp you would have a similar problem. Could you dray poke first thing in the morning using guns with moderators?. I use number 5 shot in a .410 Baikal fitted with a Hushpower mod. It still makes a bang but shooting straight up it isn't that noticeable as that's where the sound wave goes. Quote Link to post
EDDIE B 3,118
What about using well hidden traps on the ground, or traps set high up on the tree trunk, out of arms reach? I feel anything else is a waste of time. Quote Link to post

Try lamping the drey and giving it a poke Quote Link to post
