New pad / tablet

Recommended Posts

I think that me pad has a dose of the covids.  It is a Samsung and has ben really good but it can't be updated and has become very sluggish.  Been through the  system to clear it and check for problems but I  think that it's time for it to be replaced. So anyone got any recommendations or don't buy opinions. Looking for something about 7 inch screen.  I'm not desparate as I've got an iMac and two laptops to use and this tab is still working albeit a bit sluggish.

Thanks for the replies. All info gratefully received.  I've used c cleaner before. The Mrs has just got a new Samsung A10 but I  hate the bloody thing.  It is quite heavy, thin and shiny ( slippery).   On the odd times that I have held it and every time I  feel like I'm  fighting not to drop it like a bar of soap.  Another thing that I  don't like is that the edge boundary is very narrow.... the screen comes very close to the edge.  When I  have used it, suddenly things start happening like the camera comes on..... because I am touching unmarked areas where their are command switches. I like my little 7inch Samsung because it is light. The surface is stippled and grippy and the frame has a boundary with clear controls so the operation is stable. But the market doesn't seem to offer much choice. Probably the best of the offering is the IPad mini but it is a bit pricy. Saying that, it would sync in with the rest of out Apple equipment.

Ps.   My pad is about 3 years old but Android don't seem to issue upgrades to the operating system.  This means that the systems get left behind, abandoned.

I think its more down to hardware, on what version you can run.

150 quid every 3 years to stay on top aint bad ,  doesn't matter how much you spend now it will be relatively old hat in 3 years.

Well I  found cCleaner and went to play store to download it.. clang. ..  the version available isn't optimised for my device.!!!! So it's as you state .... It doesn't matter how much you spend now it will be relatively old hat in 3 years. !!!

i would take it to your local computer shop....we have a little private owned shop in the next village and hes pretty good at stuff like that...bound to be something similar by you

Minor problem with that..........  there's a viral pandemic going on ....... everywhere is shut and plod is issuing £1000 fines. I don't think that they would consider touring around looking for a new pad as essential shopping even if there were any shops open. ?

I have a samsung 10 inch pad A, it probably is about 3 ish years old. It's just started running a tad slow. But the most annoying thing is , it now and again disconnects from the WiFi and is a pain too get back on. My router and WiFi in my house is fine, so must be something up with the pad. I have done all the updates and googled it ect to no avail. Am wondering now if it's just old and I should dig deep and buy another, apart from that it's been a great pad and 10 inch screen makes a big difference for porn and films ect.
