I wondered if anyone on here knows any good gunsmiths who could shorten and thread the barrel and my hw 99s  ??  so i can fit a silencer?  or would/could i buy a threaded barrel and have it fitted??

Assuming you’ve gone an bought a standard 99 ain’t ya and now want it threaded... you can get an adaptor for to fit a UNF like, but it makes it like a proper pole. Any decent gun smith with the machinery would do it. What caliber you got? 177 with a 10inch barrel is gash mate. Not enough barrel for the lead to get up to speed and so power is tricky to get up. Twenty two and up your laughing. 

On ya second Q. You could approach Sandwell Fields Sports for a barrel I suppose and fit it ya sen.

You can buy a buy threaded barrel from one of your great European neighbours

I would not bother with the cost of that conversion because you are NOT going to silence a springer, I fitted one to a TX200 but it really makes little or no difference as you cannot remove the spring slap.

If you shorten you might remove choke making it less accurate , I had a adapter  for my HW99 and fitted a silencer, didnt make much difference to noise at all I took it back off!!!

I wouldn't bother keep it standard. Give it a good internal polish use nice tight spring guides and use TBT bum slide on the piston skirt with original piston seal. Iv messed about with these a lot amazing guns and as standard. Don't follow the imp ideas iv had one and stripped it the insides are something I won't digress. A simple diy tune as above will match one. Don't cut the barrel down! A muzzle weight would be of a lot more use instead of a moderator. Seriously.

Yes my 99 has been tuned with tbt kit, polish and re greased  and it shoots far better than my imp

As above, my .22 hw99 has standard barrel with muzzle weight and it’s quiet without a sound moderator. V-Mach tuned and shoots lovely, in fact, I must dig it out and have a play
