mark williams 7,549
Took Kaiser and my old lady for a leisurely stroll across the farm this morning, very little about really, a few Jays, a few wood pigeons etc but seeing a covey of 5 grey partridges lift from the same field twice on consecutive days gives me a little hope. I`ve got to watch the corvid numbers as they are way higher after the " Peck-em saga " One less threat to the game birds/ song birds anyway, a grey taken at roughly 28 yds, free standing, so perfect range for the .22. 7 Quote Link to post
Dervburner 2,548
Good shooting Mark, I love the old sports, great to see them still in use. Takes me back to my salad days. I prefer to shoot springers free standing for some reason, and these type, such as the sport, seem to balance and hold on target so well. 1 Quote Link to post

philpot 4,928
We found new residents on one of our perms, a covey of partridges about 12 - 15 in total. We don't shoot them but I do confess that I love to watch them with the wind up their tail feathers, low flying misiles going along the hedge. Neither of us would lift a gun to them in all honesty, just nice to see. Nice shooting on the sqizzer Mark. Phil Quote Link to post
