used to be a fair few forest fans and some supporters clubs forest had a few irish lads playing so that was maybe the connection ..

I pop up Sligo Rovers now and again, it’s like non league really.....the standard is pretty poor and refereeing is the worst you have ever seen which can really spoil stuff but it’s still not a bad little evening out just going your football....you know how it is.

You keep saying about the reffing wilf, what's the issue with it?

Well basically they ref games like they are almost a non contact sport.

They will give fouls, free kicks and yellow cards for challenges and tackles they are absolutely bog standard any given Saturday up and down England.
It makes for totally bland soulless football.

Their idea of the offside rule is ludicrous and they find it hard to keep up with play so are making decisions from like 40yds away......bad decisions.

They absolutely ruin games, break them up, stop start, stop start.

It’s bad for the game itself because let me tell you, if most teams here even came up against decent standard English Saturday sides they just couldn’t cope......they wouldn’t Know what had hit them.

Totally awful to watch mate

That's sounds horrendous, bet it also means if the ref doesn't stop it every 2 minutes the players would be gassed to f**k

Not at all mate, the standard of fitness amongst young blokes here is fantastic, sport is cheap, accessible and well attended here from age 5, everyone does sport.

In the summer local to here all the school age kids will be out at least 4 nights a week at training or matches for Gealic or Football and some add in tennis, boxing, basketball or martial arts.

That’s the real shame of it, they have super athletes.

I see that Mike Ashley has spoken out about the PPV matches as a piss take of fans wanting to watch their team when not allowed in the ground but already forking out for Sky and/or BT. Fair play.

i think gary nevilles done the same..i thought we were supposed to get games on mainstream tv while grounds were closed to fans  dont seem that long ago but we had a few last season ..

It's always going to be about money, that's the modern game in England and I think everyone gets that and no one holds a gun to any one's head, but PPV is a step too far I think. Good reaction from those donating to "food banks" instead of paying to watch the games. Particularly Leeds fans according to reports.
