Sausagedog 7,381
How I understand the law one has to be 15+ to use a shotgun unsupervised so supervised by an adult (21+) should be ok. Quote Link to post
philpot 4,927
I got my first gun license at the age of 14, ten shillings from the post office but that was almost 54 years ago and I am pretty certain that as with most things in life, there will have been many changes. To be 100% certain, call BASC or look through the pages of their web site. Phil 1 Quote Link to post
Stavross 13,720
Sausagedog is correct, there’s no age restrictions on shotguns, supervised up to the age of 15, not allowed to buy or rent one until 18, you can apply for a shotgun certificate at any age, a lad who is a member of my syndicate has had a shotgun certificate alongside his dads since he was 12 and was shooting 20’s and 410’s long before that, supervised of course 2 1 Quote Link to post

Qbgrey 3,981
I seen all those benbhoy still doesnt tell us much about actual shoot age. Quote Link to post
Alsone 789
Stavros answered your question above. The shoot has to comply with the law for minimum age etc. Beyond that, they can impose their own tighter rule restrictions if they like. A shoot is a private club after all and as such it can have it's own rules on who shoots and at what age, provided those rules don't conflict with or break the law. Qbgrey 3,981
Just checked with our insurance ,he can shoot on private land with me,on my own land with me,and on a commercial shoot or any paid shooting with me at any age,if he is allowed on then hes insured.but im thinking a driven day will have an age limit.
