Garage floor..

Recommended Posts

What would you recommend to cover a bare concrete garage floor.

I'm thinking cow mat maybe..

Im going to partition half of it off to make a little work shop type area.

So thinking of insulating the floor a bit.

Yeah, they stop the cold of the concrete working through your boots and are just spongy enough to stop your feet aching if you're standing on it for ages. Mine's got bigger holes in it which lets the dirt and stuff fall through.

That's a good shout - especially if you plan on spending a fair amount of time in there

If you want to go go nuts, look at Warmup or Wedi boards and tiling over- obviously this depends on what you want to turn the room into.

.......... I've got some experience with this so, feel free to give me a shout if needed

Yea I've seen the 1s with round holes in about the size of a 10p.

I'm going to be using a wood lathe in there so having them holes in the floor will hold the shavings.

Just done a search jonjon.

Warmup is under floor heating is it.

And them wedi boards I've never heard of that.it looks good stuff though is it rigid to walk on or is there any give in it.

I'm thinking maybe go for celotex with play sheets on top.

Then some of them carpet tiles on top maybe.

Yes, Warmup do make underfloor heating but, they also do insulation boards that are similar to the Wedi boards.

........ you couldn't just put the boards down, they're too fragile for that but, once they're tiled over they're stable and they insulate well.

Celotex and ply will be quicker and cheaper
