shaaark 11,270
Why the f**k haven't these extandable leads been banned yet?! Just seen a guy and his young daughter, about 7-8 years old, walking down a main road with one of these little fluffy toy dog x's. Dog was about 10-12 yards in front of them, and suddenly decides to run into the road after a jackdaw! Oncoming car luckily/foolishly, had the chance to swerve the dog as there was no other oncoming cars. When the f**k will people learn?!
terryd 8,919
Just laziness. A way of giving the dog more exercise with out effort or can't be arsed to teach it walk tidy. Just daft if your dog is 10 feet in front it can also go ten feet in any direction so if your 3 feet from a road duh Edited May 23, 2019 by terryd

I sorted them out with a jack russel pup . When they started taking it for walks I said all you need is a slip lead and when it pulls give it a firm pull back , it’ll get the idea and soon stop pulling. Next time I saw it , it was in a harness, scrabbling along the pavement in front pulling like a sledge dog . “What the hells that “ I said “the lead was hurting his neck “ she said . They went on holiday not so long back and we looked after the dog for them , put it this way , I did a bit of “dog whispering “. And it went back to them not pulling on the lead . Fast forward a few weeks and it’s back in the harness..... I guess some people just haven’t got a clue . 2

It fits the criteria of modern life, no need to teach your dog to walk to heel or not chase livestock or any of the basic behaviour traits that make your companion a pleasure to be with, now just let it run round barking at everything totally out of control, then reel it in and go home when you have pissed enough people off or the nasty man with his well trained dog walks passed you off the lead, divvy,s with dogs out number proper dog owners at least 10-1
