f***ing flu jab??? good dose a man the fcuk up yous need ????

Thats a stupid throw away post. Even if it was in jest . You need to understand  that No one is an island and if you get a real dose of the flu no amount of maning up will keep you on your feet.  It nailed between 50 to 100 MILLION people in the 1918 outbreak. Back when we had the Asian flue strong men just collapsed and were in a bad way.  It is now thought that the black death was possibly another version.

Ps. the reason it was called the Spanish flu was because of wartime sensorship and public morale. And the king of Spain had an illness so it was pointed in their direction. Although the first cases were notified in a troop camp in America.  A lot of this seems to be linked to ducks and fowl.

Pps.  Imagine what the world population would be if those people hadn't  have been killed by these diseases.

While you're correct, Meece. Just what sort of protection from global catastrophe is the local 'jabbist' providing?

We're talking about the consensus on what is the predominant strain of flu doing the rounds this year. Not so much on are we looking at a global debilitating pandemic.

While the argument against vaccination for major diseases is massively flawed we're not talking about heading to your local GP to get a shot against Ebola either. Flu kills thousands to tens of thousands a year in the US but doesn't make a headline. If someone wants to go and get a flu shot by all means but in the unlikely event I catch it I'll follow Katchum's advise!

Absolutely mate. I don't think anyone would suggest they don't have a place but I honestly question the number of jabs sought versus the number of people that probably don't need one and the amount of revenue they generate. That's especially true this end as the insurance companies are billed for the vaccines and healthcare costs have risen considerably under Trump as they did under Obama, Bush, and Clinton. The NHS still has to pay for these vaccines and that will ultimately come out of your tax contributions. 40 million vaccines will be cheaper to purchase than 40 as a cost per unit but that cost has to supported somewhere.

We could argue that more vaccines lower the costs but how much is lost in man hours when employers have to cover the amount of sick time incurred when people are too sick to work? On face value, it probably doesn't look like much but that cost gets passed on somewhere when you follow the money.

Whose had the flu jab this year  ?

This was the original post. Ive never had the flu jab and I've  never had flue  but to say man up is a comment from someone who's never had flu. There some things like being run over and your legs broken that you won't man up from. Still there you go.

When I was a nipper and some local child got chicken pox then my mother and aunts would gather up all the kids and bring them over to the infected child's house. They claimed that if you catch it young it's very mild but if you catch it as an adult it's dangerous. It was like Dawn of the dead with all the little sick kids going around. My brothers face still looks like the surface of the moon with scars from pulling off the scabs.???
