their a bit too fast for their own good at times ,,saw my bitch run in around a farmyard after a big rabbit and it went round machinery and through cattle pens (empty )and back up a tarmacadam road ,,i was afraid to breath at times ,,her stopper pads were burnt off her  when she came back,,another day she hit a plough buried in cover in pursuit of the common bunny,,,took a bad cut to her back,,mid section...when ever i slipped her i was fearful of the end result mostly lol

She'll be raised around all types of obstacles so hopefully she'll learn abit of running sense

i hope so ,but at the end of the day greyhounds are manic minded ...do or die comes to mind ,,they dont see anything except their intended target

Bitch mate

I reared a bitch like a lurcher from 12 weeks old, like jigsaw says it can a bit nerve racking at times although mine never got anymore knocked up than any other runner I’ve had, one fault she had was she would hunt up on a hare like a harrier was grand on fox and rabbit.

I had one as a youngster , coursing bred and brought up as a lurcher, fast but worked field and fell with terriers and ferrets . Lamped, jumped like a gazelle and retrieved. Was almost disembowelled jumping a fence and landed on wire but stitched back together.

Hated foxes with a passion and smashed into them but retrieved rabbit live to hand .  Still miss him as we had some good years. Unreal drive .

I had an ex track bitch for breading off very good natured and threw some good first crosses to saluki but to say she was reclass fkn hell why you choose grey mate just out of interest.

To see how they do as a lurcher and if it's true they get injured often which I dont think is true if brought up in the field from a pup not taken straight off the track, i have a 3/16 bull bitch never had any problems ever but my land ain't rocky and is mostly big arable and small fenced paddocks so should cope fine
