First Jay

Couple of hours up the copse and the cheap ghillie suit helps bag a first jay for the S410.

Nice shooting Chris.

               To shoot a Jay means your fieldcraft and marksmanship was spot on .

               Your local angling shop would most likely want the wing feathers as they are highly prized by the fly fishing lads.

I thought the same about the feathers, had loads of wings saved up but nobody wanted them. Never thought about taking them to a shop though. Good shooting with the air rifle, I’ve mostly shot them with a shotgun and they still aren’t the easiest of birds to get a bead on.

I've kept a load of the key feathers as I do dabble in a bit of fly fishing myself. Plenty of wild brown trout on our club's river.

Took this Jay the other evening Chris and i want to mount some chosen feathers myself and attach to her gun bag.

                        I was using my latest classic.

                        A full length, HW 77 .177cal, Sand well Field Sports tuned, 1986.
