I am thinking about putting up a new shed, at the moment i am working out of a 7x13 and struggling for room, thinking 20x 10, apex roof, a couple of trusses to do my skinning off, work bench 10x3 at one end, plenty of hanging room for traps snares etc, and may put a stove in it, i have the skills to build it myself from timber or would it be better to buy one? your thoughts ?

I built mine from waste timber that my sons got payed  £200 to clear from a job win win, shop bought is shit quality and held together with staples unless you go for bespoke and as you said you may as well do it yourself as you have the skills, another good option if you have the room is an old shipping container or metal site hut, cheap well secure and easily cladded  to make them look how you want ?

one company quoting £799 for 20x10, 11mm boards, no floor, poor sheets on roof and no felt, think i could do it for around £600 and have what i want, couple of things different than just a box.

Greyman , struggle to get a container or site hut in, thought did pass my mind.

Shame that as you can pick them up for around £500, looks like your building a shed mate, step by step photos required ?

Don't be fooled, building your own won't work out cheaper as you will be wanting better quality than shop bought crap.

i just built one 28 ft x12ft, but I made a proper job, 4"x2"frame rather than 2"3/4 x1''3/4

22mm shiplap, everything all treated before assembly, felt, ply lined etc etc etc, its cost a lot more than I could have bought one, but twice the shed I would have got, and it's exactly what I wanted size and fitted out.

If you can get cheap materials your laughing, but they cost a packet off the shelf.

Oh and forget the shipping container, condensation like nowt you would believe unless it's an insulated one, everything will be dripping wet and rusty in a year or two.

With a small amount of work condensation can be overcome still a lot less work to stick some vents in and line than building a shed, this restaraunt near me is made from half a dozen containers bolted together brilliant and bone dry even when full of people and the kitchen running at full pelt but as he has,nt got the room it's pretty immaterial anyway

Proper man cave that, can you take the side wall out and just put another three sides on to double the width ? Less materials plus you don't need to move all your stuff

It don't matter how big a shed you build, you will still fill it with something ? I learnt that one years ago but I'm still building more and bigger every year

Dead right I built an 8.5 X 5 metre garage  always  saying I needed enough room to work, a few years on there is a small walkway through the middle of everyone's shit that just gets thrown in there out of sight out of mind style
