Thats a very power full sentence i wonder how many moms have thought that i know its just a tv program but from a moms point of view it must make them think and worry my son is 22 and still talks of trying again but his mom say,s NO atvbmac I had to read this post several times to understand the content. Ive got 4 daughters but if they had been sons and any of them had said that they wanted to join any of the forces it wouldn't be just their mum kicking their arses it would be me also. My Father served out in Burma up the jungle as a young man. although he came home without any physical wounds, he was mentally scared. It wrecked his marrage and relationship with his family añd us kids. For what? Nothing that was worth anything. What have all of the suffering of those maimed out in Iraq and afgan achieved. .

As a young lad, you don't give it much thought, but now as a father, I think I know what she means. That was the only time we were deployed together though.

NeillNI 49
No, the wee bro was with the Rangers, I was with the Desert Rats with 1RMP. The Rangers were a good laugh. I worked with them again when they were sent up to Fort George in Inverness around 2007. It has all changed now, the 7th Armoured are now Infantry apparently.. but it was good times, good folk. and some really 'shit the bed' moments when out on reccy for longer than a ratpack lasted.. well mine anyway Sometimes I look back and think I would love to go back, but it is a young man/womans game.
