budgie123 163
I have a bedi greyhound first cross and I wouldn't go ferreting without him. 100% marker. At the start I found it difficult t read him but his style is going into a stealth mode up on his toes tip toeing across the sets which now is impossible to mistake. I just follow him across the moor and ferret where he marks. He has put dozens in the bag when you think you have cleared a set and you look round and he is marking 1 hole and sure enough ferret in and another 1 or 2 in the bag. What impresses me the most is when he marks and you get one or 2 out of a massive set. How good is a dogs nose? Twice this year he has gone on a rabbits line which has flushed from cover unseen across the moor and nailed it and returned chuffed to bits. Things you never forget. One trait which surprises me is when he finds rabbits in cover you cant mistake the mark with tail held high wagging but he will not push in and take them in the seat. He pushes in but until the rabbit breaks he will not get hold. 3 Quote Link to post

rabbit demon 302
My beddy whippet can be a pain in the arse marking warrens sometimes. Iv noticed she will try go down the hole and bite at the entrance if the rabbit has just went into the hole. Normally her marks are a bit more subtle, but if she thinks theres a chance she can get the rabbit herself shes goin down the hole and needs dragged away. Lost a good few rabbits because of her stubborn streak where she wont look up to see a bolter if shes preoccupied. To be honest my wee beddy whippet can be a class act then other times shes hard work. Depends on her mood. 1 Quote Link to post

Both parents are working, looking forward to having a pup around the place. 2 Quote Link to post
