Welsh_red 4,309
Might be a stupid question but I'll ask it anyway . I've read on here to not feed ferrets pork because of salt content. Would it be the same for wild boar meat? Quote Link to post
Lee farrington 211
I feed mine pork, it's ok if it's not got the added salt, I get runt piglets from a pig fram . Some times they get it hole sometimes chopped up. So I guess wild boar will be ok as well 1 Quote Link to post

Pork is fine especially if its farm fresh but only feed enough for them to clear-up quickly and don't let them store it in the nest box for too long because pork has a reputation for going "off" quickly. I would avoid supermarket pork for this reason as it may not be very fresh. One thing to be careful of when handling raw boar meat is trichinosis . I guess it can infect ferrets just as it infects other animals including humans! Edited March 12, 2018 by comanche 1 1 Quote Link to post
