Great Publicity For Ggfofi Mick The Miller Race

Recommended Posts

I think the best way to promote my chosen sport is to keep myself to myself, and go about my sport without drawing unwanted attention to myself. Therefore you will never see me in any magazine, never mind the over priced one you produce, you keep repeating yourself and to be honest it gets a bit boring after a while, so good luck to you and your team, a team that includes irelands only professional rabbit catcher or so he proclaims. Been involved in fieldsports for a long number of years and never heard of him until he started writing in magazines, i live less than 5 mile from his home town, so if he was the great sportsman he claims to be im sure i would have heard his name before now. But as ive already said good luck to you and your team. Keep up the good work

You lads should come to England and see how much support lurchers and terriers get at shows.....not a squint of what you guys get

Well WB you appear to be someone who 'keeps himself to himself' but is not slow to criticise others doing something positive.

Rather pathetic too with the little jag ' over priced magazine'. As usual as INACCURATE as the rest of your rhetoric. What other magazine is as good value in Ireland as the IRISH COUNTRYSPORTS & COUNTRY LIFE magazine in its hard copy edition?

And of course the magazine is available FREE TO READ online for those people who choose to read it in this format www.countrysportsandcountrylife.com

The magazine, again an effective vehicle for promoting and defending country sports including giving the sporting organisations a voice with c 100,000 readers per issue is the MOST READ EVER Irish hunting, shooting and fishing magazine so obviously few people interested in Irish country sports share your opinion.

It would appear that you would prefer us to 'keep ourselves to ourselves', 'follow our own sport', not organise Game Fairs or publish the magazine, be on the dole and give our dole money to charity! If that is your opinion for what would be good for country sports in Ireland you ARE entitled to it.

Meanwhile for those preferring to see something positive done for Irish countrysports - see the attractions at the Shanes Castle Game Fair www.irishgamefair.com

How many people does it take to run a GAME FAIR?

Some people appear to think the GREAT GAME FAIRS of IRELAND is a 'one man band'. I am flattered that they think this but I thought this photograph of the press launch AND JUST some of the representatives of terriers & lurchers, angling, living history and gundog competition organisers pictured would give an idea - multiply this by five or six, add in the clay shooting guys, the people who do demos, stewards, workers on the ground, security, safety staff etc and you get an idea. And if you want to see just how much we do for the various sports including the terrier and lurchers see www.irishgamefair.com

Myself and a few other lads are heading across for the weekend. Looking forward to it.

Always delighted to see fellow sportsmen 'from across the pond'. Pop into the Irish Countrysports and Country Life stand to speak to our editor Paul Pringle for a welcome pack.

Glad the ladies could get you sorted out with accommodation - quite a few travelling from the UK and of course from all over Ireland. Don't be put off by the few disgruntled people on this forum. Most Irish terrier, lurcher and whippet owners are most sporting. Meanwhile you can download a free programme to read on the ferry, http://irishgamefair.com/pdf/GF_Programme.pdf
