I'm the same mate - they've gone right downhill since Pat was doing the rounds I probably will order another at some point but, I've read a few negative comments about gamekeeper johns customer service so, I'll just keep an eye on the catty section or put a wanted ad up It's a shame - with the rain this morning, it would have been an ideal time to take the dogs for a walk up the woods 1 Quote Link to post
si brown 8,486
Good to get out Si but too bloody hot for me. I went bunny hunting on a friend's perm, took the first at 57mt with the Impact and left it where it dropped while we sat in the crop waiting for more to come out. Not one but four foxes came out of the undergrowth after my rabbit so we called it quits at that area but managed a few more in a different patch. So nice being out in the slightly cooler night air last night. What is that app, chairgun ??? Phil yeah its chairgun phil just type it into your app's gizmo on your phone or pc! its a pice of pi55 to use... the two most important thing you have to do is enter an accurate fps for your pellet and the scope height( look on youtube) how to do this, there are a few different ways to do this but i find a tape measure more than adequate and a lot quicker! all the pellets bc's and reticles are in the presets just filter through and apply witch ones your using and set your zero distance.... easy its gonna be well worth you getting to grips with it for your impact i dont do clicks but if its your thing its all there to be had for free!! atb si Quote Link to post

philpot 5,103
I tell you what Si. that fcuking chairgun drives me round the twist. Again the other day I spent bloody ages reading up and watching how to use chairgun. After I had the idea of it, I completed the set up page and fed in all the shite in order to get my hold over sorted for the Impact .25 fac and the Rapid .22 fac. Now with all the information logged and printed onto paper, off I went to test the chairgun out. FCUKING MILES OFF, WHAT A LOAD OF SHITE. I set up a new target at 65mt, chairgun gave me 4.5mildot holdover..............................in truth it was less than one mildot with a zero of 25mt. The Rapid was also way off so I just did some tests out to 65mt starting at 12mt, far easier than fcuking chairgun. You are welcome to it Si, although it may be good for sub 12 it is no good to me unless of course I am doing it all wrong but I don't think so. Phil 2 Quote Link to post
Jonjon79 13,358
You feckin ol' git Potts ...... I can't do it either I'm much happier drawing a range card with a bunch of targets and a rangefinder - all that technology is good but, it does my head in 1 Quote Link to post

Thanks for that parcel mate. Pollies are utterly mint and group well but I need to take a washer out... or two . Metals don't group as well, strangely considering it's the same mound... literally. Extremes are average in 177, twenty twos drop like stones and are super accurate and hit with proper poundage. Choices... damn it. 1 Quote Link to post

Phil strange that phil I've got limited time so i can set up at home @20m set my hold under to one ml'd and alter the input accordingly and when i get out its bang on at 40! look at si p and matt... thats all they use! and I'm no where near as technical as them!! philpot 5,103
I have studied Si Pittaway's you tube vid so many times it is untrue. Now it may well be that as an aging old fart, I perhaps am doing something wrong but in all honesty I really don't think so, always willing to learn though. The advantage of chairgun is obvious, I just cannot get it to work. Phil Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,568
I`m too old fashioned myself Phil but I do get a result, now and then I simply get a very sharp zero at 28 yds .22 I simply get a very sharp zero at 36/ 38 yds - depending if the wife has the washing out ( garden range you see ) Anyways, rocket science aside, once I have the zero on a very calm day, I moggy off to one of my perms and get my calibrations out to 50 yds only, by having a permanent stationary target ( cardboard box and brick). I then take zero`s every 5yds back.( using my range finder) Si Pitterway/ Chair Gun, never, ever, tells you to take " an average" wind calibration on the day you are static shooting- ( that is the deadly bit), ALWAYS take an average on the day, for prevailing wind. Three or four shots will get you the mill dot allowance. If you are expecting different ranges, TAKE wind readings accordingly. This makes a massive improvement to my game bags ( just my humble way of calibration ) atb Mark 1 Quote Link to post
