For Sale Daystate Merlyn .177

I've decided to sell my Daystate Merlyn .177 because, with everything else in the cabinet, it's just not going to get used.

 

I bought this a couple of months ago from an RFD that had recently acquired it from a collector.

 

It was made in July 2009 so, it's one of the later mechanical rifles with the Harper valve.

 

It sits in a Mk4 style walnut thumbhole stock. Overall, the rifle is in excellent condition and is very nice to use.

 

The only bad bits that I can find are a couple of small marks on the dovetail that look like they've been caused by scope mounts. These are only in the finish, they're not gouges or crimps.

Ive also managed to find 2 small marks on the stock - one on the rosewood cap and one on the underside of the fore end. These were difficult to find.

 

Some recent testing over the chrono with JSB Heavy (10.34gn) - 20 shots from 200bar gave an average of 708fps (11.48ftlb) with a variance of 8fps.

 

The rifle will come with a 10 shot mag and a new BSA tactical bag.

 

Price is £500.

 

I really don't want to post this but, I will on the understanding that it is posted at your risk. In this scenario I would provide pictures of the packaging for peace of mind and, it would be sent by recorded delivery.

 

Alternatively, I'm happy to pay the fees this end for RFD delivery or, I can deliver personally within a 50 mile radius.

You can fit a mod to it Mac but, it's got a female thread on the end that isn't 1/2".

 

My RFD tells me that Daystate sells an adaptor to fit a standard 1/2" BSP silencer. If you end up buying the rifle, I'll order the adaptor

Hi Mark,

 

For .177 pcp I use the GSX100. For .22 it's the Super 10.

Springers are a HW97kt in .177 and a TX200hc in .22

 

It's taken a while but, I feel like I've finally got the full set that I'm happy with.

It's a nice thing to own but, it's an expensive ornament if it's not used.

 

It's lovely to use - it shoots like a Daystate but, because it doesn't have any electronics, you can feel it
