Been out earlier and watched a spectacular fireworks display which filled the sky, there was even a drone hovering above! So different to whenI was a kid! Saved every penny and could just afford a box of Standard Fireworks 2/6p and a few bangers! I was hoping some of the older lads could remember what was in the box? I remember a Jacky Jumper which was great with the girls, Catherine Wheel with a pin to stick it to a post, Roman Candle, Vesuvius. Each firework would last a couple of seconds. End up throwing bangers at each other. How things have changed, good laugh though!

I was just thinking about the indoor fireworks. Yeah, the worm came out of a tiny pyramid thing. A lot of them were just like giant matches that burned different colours. I wonder if they are even still legal?

We went to a fantastic display also I was watching the bloke set them of by remote via a laptop how things have changed from holding a air bombs and directing it to just above your mates heads ....what with fireworks and dodgy tv and radio stars I'm amazed we survived the 70s lol.

Another one in the box was called something like "silver fountain", I can relate to what you said King we used to go to the top of the mountain where we had a good view of the valley, even did it when I had my own kids as money was always tight. Something which also sticks in my mind was a few of us "urchins" going around the well off kids gardens and watching their fireworks, not once did we get a welcome but clear off you little bu**ers. Sad eh???

Those aeroplanes must have been lethal.

And those jumping jacks ...I can't actually remember seeing a jumping Jack in action before they was banned but remember the stories that my oldest brother would tell about them being attracted to people and chasing them around.
