Accip74 7,112
Stay a way from harkila,,, I just made a pair last 4 years........in truth, only 2 seasons were relatively hard ware. I was relentless with my cleaning & waxing though & always had dry feet until end of last season, but there fcuked now. ......but since buying them I've only heard bad about them, so I won't be buying another pair. Trouble is, every time I make my mind up on a new pair, someone says they were fcuked after one season etc etc etc....
arcticgun 4,548
Stick too the classic standards Altberg n Lowa proper boot makers sensible prices and fully repairable, when I look up the ranges at Meindels purpose made hunting boots I see more weakness in the structure, let's face it these companies make there real money off the army mod contracts worldwide and it's usually there basic boots that get them this business initially this allowing them to build more luxury boots for stalkers n hunters but with more features comes more chance of damage imho I like all leather boot as I see gortex etc anywhere but the inside lining I loose interest, tho k best way is too have two or three pairs on the go at once

arcticgun 4,548
Or buy a real good pair then get a second pair off eBay mod surplus stores 30 see you a pair of altberg that's in reasonable condition overall likely seen six week training whilst being kept immaculate by some poor kid trying too get in the army so that's them properly broke with another year or two left in the sole which once worn can be replaced as long as upper looked after Rather Chance a second hand pair of altbergs for thirty bar than say pay 100 for brasher or berghaus hikers any day of the week Having at least two pairs allows one pair too dry out right before being used again treated right most these boots last years with just the on resolving n buff up think incorrect drying lays waste too more boots than anything else

Can see the sence in having two pairs.
