DogFox123 1,379
Theres always been connections between fighters/trainers and gamedogs one that springs to mind was the gr sire of Limeys Tug who was owned by Marvin Haglers trainers... closer to home Ricky Hattons former trainer was brother of the old Pit Bull News editor Joe Graham.....few other well known fighters had a healthy respect for a game dog.I think fighting folk stand in awe at what those dogs are capable of... Funnily enough all that talk of the G-Man being a dogman and all that, you see the state of those fat little barrels he was parading, dogman my arse.... I know the Manassa Mauler was very fond of his gamedogs, I just wish the world was differnt and we could all celebrate what an amazing canine they really are... The picture i think your talking about is the one of McClellen with two little Staffords...those wernt his dogs...as i remember it they was lent to him in England for publicity shots before the Benn fight...theres been a whole bunch of crap written about McClellen and his dogs to portray him as the bad guy and some how deserving his fate...since he can no longer defend himself...his son says his dads favorite match dog was a big 65lber called Deuce The most well known boxer in recent times to be involved in game dogs would be Roy Jones Jr...heavily into his bulldogs and game birds...maybe thats behind his decision to move to Russia??...back in the 1800's it was common for prize fighters to be involved with gamedogs...Jem Belcher and Tom Cribb where amoung many at that time...be interested to hear of others
AKA-BRINDLE 879
It was the second part i recorded last night...have to wait til saturday to record first part...also set to record a documentary about Terry Lawless on Sky Sports early hours of tomorrow...dont know if its been on before?...watch the lot at the weekend...off to exotic sunny Great Yarmouth tomorrow night...we having an evening with Ricky Hatton It was a great documentary but a little biased, Johnson wasn't always the poor victim as was portrayed. Can't believe there hasn't been a movie on the man, done right it could be a great film..... Not a bad watch that...preferd the first part not really interested in the (ugly) white women he shagged...Jeffries should of fought him before he retired maybe a different fight 5 years before?...you can say the same about the willard fight it was an old Johnson that Willard beat...noticed the old style English bull Johnson had running about in some of the footage(i notice stuff like that lol)...yep hard to believe its never been made into a movie...nearest from that era hollywoods done justice to was Russel Crowe in Cinderella man I know Johnson owned Colby Pitbulls, I've seen a picture of him and the great breeder with a Bulldog... true , think he rolled few , he liked game dogs and liked that C breeding Just took Louis Colbys book down off the shelf...theres a picture of Johnson in there at the Colby house...did Johnson own the dog Colbys Flubdub??
