Bryan 1,363
I struggle to understand why the opinions of celebrities are given any weight? In the Brexit vote David Beckham and Rio Ferdinand where wheeled out for their opinion, not on how to beat Iceland, but on the fiscial and geopolitical relationship uk should have with a trading bloc, WTF. It blows my mind to think someones votes in an election or referendum could be swung by a celebrity? Today's pressing issue in Ireland is the annual attempt to ban it through a private members bill by and Dublin inner city politician, Dublin is having a very entertaining gangland feud between drug gangs killing each other but this is headline news. http://www.irishexaminer.com/breakingnews/ireland/gabriel-byrne-calls-on-tds-to-support-bid-to-ban-hare-coursing-742510.html 1 Quote Link to post

Mary 352
He said we are one of three country, what's the other two? I'm afraid celebrity status comes with vocal power, people that have never stood in a field in there lives will buy into this. What about a hare being chased down by a pack of wolves, should we ban them too, ffs. A private members bill was introduced a few weeks ago and was rejected on the basis that legal hare coursing was "of vital economic importance" to rural towns and villages in Ireland by minister of arts and heritage. 2 Quote Link to post
THE GENERAL 1,982
As said reporters both North and south know well to be careful what they are publishing when it comes to sensitive areas like gangland fueds and paramilitaries. It's well known they can easily become targets. Veronica Guerin and Martin o Hagan lost there lives due to there jobs. It's probably easier for them to spur crap on field sport matters instead, something they'd know equally as little about. Quote Link to post
