Ask For Help Before Giving It A Go...

Recommended Posts

As per the title.

If you're a little unsure when it comes to adding bits to your rifle, read up properly and ask people before giving it a go yourself. Otherwise you make a mess like this.

http://imgur.com/QLL1JAK - Yes that's a brand new, custom made suppressor adapter made specifically for my barrel dimensions.

It happened to be a tiny little bit tight. So I may have erm... forced it on with a hammer :( Yes, I know, I know, I'm an idiot.

It's on but it isn't coming off. Not a chance. Will need cutting off.

So with a cry for help, a friend very kindly invited me round and we spent the majority of the day trying to fix it. Now, it wasn't an expensive part. In fact it was free. The problem was that I was so impatient to get it on (even though I didn't have the suppressor yet) that I jumped the gun (hah, hah) and buggered it up. I squashed the first 3 threads and mushroomed and bent the entire end.

We had to cut and file for what seemed forever to get it to fit. Eventually it did and I couldn't wait to see how quiet my cannon now was. Without checking for alignment properly, I set up and sent a pellet to paper. Crack, smash, weeeeeeeeeeeeee, thunk.

Yeah the pellet had clipped every single baffle on the way out. WHAT AN IDIOT! Now the suppressor was custom made too. That was a cheapo job at mates rates. One that I can't afford to replace at the moment, which sucks. It does however, work, even though its buggered. The pellets do come out. It's quieter than it was. I also learned a very valuable lesson. I know you guys are not that stupid but for any newbie that visits the boards. Don't think you know better. Just blooming ask.

Now to start saving for the pair of parts all over hah.

Strangely ironic that when I'm outdoors, I could sit there for hours and not move, just taking it all in. Patience of a Saint. Put me indoors and the hammers are a first resort if something takes too long.

I feel like a complete idiot, maybe because I am but I should have known better.

It still shoots so there is that going for me...
