walshie 2,804
I've always been a cash person but since moving to the middle of nowhere I'm a bit more reliant on mail order stuff and credit cards. What a f***ing nuisance that is. I went to a petrol station late the other night and none round here are manned after about 10pm. I put in £20 of diesel and nothing came out. the fuel light was still on and it was still the same miles to empty. I've notified them and the answer was "as far as we are aware there weren't any problems". Great. As long as they aren't aware, tough shit. That's ongoing.. I ordered 2 things via mail order. 1 came broken and they are out of stock till the end of the week. The other was something completely different to what I ordered. Not just a replacement for what i did order, but not even the same sort of product. They've kindly said i can keep it as a goodwill gesture, but WTF am I going to do with a jewelled moroccan light fitting exactly? You can't beat going into a shop and handing over pound notes. No dramas that way.

Went to a hound show a good few mile away with a mate an his missus in another car, called into a petrol station and they only had cash and it was a sunday (everything is shut round here Sunday and often Monday a.m.!) so he give me the cash and used my card. Only put me overdrawn at the bloody bank dinnit oh FFS.
