lifelong cumbrian 1,829
I wouldn't know mate as i don't know the river, but one thing i do know junctions are usually decent bits, the fish hang about a little longer they are testing the water to see if its their river or not. lifelong cumbrian 1,829
In low water you want small baits mate and better fished off light line, presents the bait better. Dawn and dusk better than putting time in when the sun is up. Try fishing a worm on light gear 3lb line or so, try it upstream in clear water , fish will be facing current so may not see you if you keep stealthy, i use a bit of plastersine stuck onto the swivel for a weight, you can remove and add as you want and it won't get snagged up as easy as a lead weight. Little weight and keep the worm moving. Not trying to tell you how to suck eggs just trying to help you as you say you are starting out , good luck. 3 Quote Link to post

lifelong cumbrian 1,829
If you go at dusk till dawn the trout will start dropping out to the pool into the tail or neck, the shallower thinner water. Be trout in real shallow water in the dark. Might go tonight and have a few hours in dark then fish break of light, will fish with fly. In a flood it will push the fish into the slacker water in the sides, usually the higher the water the nearer the bank they will be in the slack side. 1 Quote Link to post
lifelong cumbrian 1,829
Just been down river with fly rod for 3 hrs, was going to stay all night but a otter put a end to that. Every pool i went to the bugger was swimming through it. Gave it up as a bad job, always next time, was nice to be out. 1 Quote Link to post
