Why don't you read it, then dumb it down for the rest of us, BH ?

I read it years ago, but understood very little of it.....just when I though I'd grasped one part, I'd half-forgotten the previous one !!   Doesn't mean you're not thick though, Walshie !

I read it when I was 20, 26 years later I think I would struggle with it more. From what a can remember I at best I understood a quarter of it.

exactly, Hawkins also says that the universe is too complex just to be a fluke, and that maths is the language of the universe, so how does that also come by fluke??? Hell of a lot just to happen randomly???

Doesn't mean he believes. To put what he said in context: "What I meant by 'we would know the mind of God' is, we would know everything that God would know, if there were a God. Which there isn't. I'm an atheist."

the thing is science is constantly correcting itself, so how can it be true?

Because science moves forward, and is prepared to admit when it's wrong. Science doesn't claim to have all-encompasing knowledge, and most importantly, questions it's own accepted wisdom !

How the tables have turned eh walshie, contradiction, all his work, but admits there could be a creator, lol

So Einstein was wrong when he said, ℠God does not play dice.´ Consideration of black holes suggests, not only that God does play dice, but that he sometimes confuses us by throwing them where they can't be seen. To confine our attention to terrestrial matters would be to limit the human spirit. (The Nature of Space and Time [1996] by Stephen Hawking and Roger Penrose, p. 121)

And you have your own agenda, which your entitled to believe. I'm not getting drawn into the same old, same old that was done to death in another thread only a couple of days ago.

Blimey. you really do have the god blinkers on today don't you? Which part of "If there was a god. Which there isn't. I'm an atheist" would lead you to think he believes in a creator?

It's all about reading whole sentences and paragraphs, not just the bits that suit.
