mark williams 7,563
Going back to the original post, Springers need a little more practice than pcp (for me that is) to get on a level similar to your pcp. I also prefer to just have the ONE calibre, ONE springer as the " firing signature" of that springer and trajectory need to be learned "big style". I find that owning and using different springers is like trying to learn and put to use different languages (if you will), - a lot, lot more to assess, think about and firing signatures to learn. What is the old saying again " beware one man and one gun" - I am learning my T Rex (springer) very well now. Quote Link to post

Rez 4,961
Ha. I looked at your post and I just read it over and couldn't make sense of it. Will you ever think of a new boing'er then? I don't think you will, but one day something will pop up in your regular RFD and you'll buy it. Wonder what it might be... Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,563
First time I've heard that old saying... But good points mark. How many calibers and springers do you like having? x I would like a shop full of everything mate, if I could, but I was taught to only ever shoot one calibre/ one gun years ago, ( springers) hence the FWB Sport 127 .22 for donkey`s years - 35 "ish".- "she had five new mainsprings (I think ?),+ services but never let me down" ( a bit like Triggers broom). Now it`s the T Rex in my beloved new calibre .177 (2nd year now) and I know a lot more of her firing signature than two years ago. Pcp`s have very little " shot signature,- for me" and can be learned quickly but I grow with the times and realise, sentimentality to one side, multi shot pcp`s are "by far" the way forward, - hunting wise.- (for me). I practice in my garden on average two, to three times a week. I hunt on average two, to three times a week. However the mood takes me on both counts. atb Always,- "Each to their own" atb 1 Quote Link to post
