How Do You Build A Fish Trap

My 9 year old wants to build a fish trap.we've do the bottle one with no success so I'm looking to build a netting type one to see if it works Notting to heavy it only for a pound to see what's in it its her idea so as simple as probable so she can have ago at making it with a little help from me .

really simple. make a cube about a foot across (or a barrel shape, or sphere or whatever) from 1/2 inch wire or plastic mesh, and on one side cut a hole for a funnel of mesh which goes small-end inwards so the fiush can swim in the wide end but cant swim out the narrow opening. bait with fish food in a plastic bag with lots of little holes in, tied with two bits of line so it is suspended in the middle of the trap and leave for a day or two

Me and my lad tried the bottle one and had some success to my surprise, only stickle backs but big stickle backs we used dog biscuits as bait

This sounds simple enough I have 10mm mash and wire to hold it together and she could make herself thanks for that.

with mesh just make a cylinder shape and use the tags of wire to fasten it, then cones of wire for ends,you can make the with just snips and mesh nothing else needed.
