Jonjon79 13,354
I finally got my bottle filled today so, I was able to put 200bar into my new A&M cylinder for the first time and see what I could get from it..... The rifle is an HW100kt .177. For this test, I used its favourite JSB Heavy 10.34gr. I fired full mags from 200bar and recorded the Combro readings for the first 3 and last 3 shots from each mag..... Mag 1: S1. 10.86ftlb - 689fps S2. 11.14ftlb - 698fps S3. 11.06ftlb - 695fps S12. 11.25ftlb - 703fps S13. 11.14ftlb - 698fps S14. 11.08ftlb - 696fps Mag 2: S1. 11.22ftlb - 700fps S2. 11.14ftlb - 698fps S3. 11.15ftlb - 698fps S12. 11.15ftlb - 698fps S13. 11.12ftlb - 697fps S14. 11.10ftlb - 696fps Mag 3: S1. 11.18ftlb - 699fps S2. 11.12ftlb - 697fps S3. 11.06ftlb - 695fps S12. 11.08ftlb - 696fps S13. 11.10ftlb - 696fps S14. 11.12ftlb - 697fps Mag 4: S1. 11.15ftlb - 698fps S2. 11.04ftlb - 695fps S3. 11.18ftlb - 699fps S12. 11.29ftlb - 703fps S13. 11.46ftlb - 708fps S14. 11.36ftlb - 705fps Mag 5. S1. 11.40ftlb - 706fps S2. 11.40ftlb - 706fps S3. 11.50ftlb - 709fps S12. 11.45ftlb - 708fps S13. 11.50ftlb - 709fps S14. 11.40ftlb - 708fps Mag 6. S1. 11.50ftlb - 709fps S2. 11.40ftlb - 706fps S3. 11.36ftlb - 705fps S12. 11.49ftlb - 708fps S13. 11.49ftlb - 708fps S14. 11.57ftlb - 711fps Mag 7: S1. 11.54ftlb - 710fps S2. 11.57ftlb - 711fps S3. 11.61ftlb - 712fps S12. 11.12ftlb - 697fps S13. 10.92ftlb - 691fps S14. 10.99ftlb - 693fps This is where it looked like it was about to start tailing off so, I recorded the next 5 shots..... S1. 10.66ftlb - 683fps S2. 10.77ftlb - 686fps S3. 10.65ftlb - 682fps S4. 10.55ftlb - 679fps S5. 10.30ftlb - 671fps Considering that I was getting 56 shots (4 mags) from the original cylinder and, I'm now getting 98 shots (7 mags), I'm very happy with this cylinder. Because it also weighs less, the center of gravity is now near the trigger, making standing shots a lot easier for me. From my results, it looks like I'm better off with a fill of around 190bar to start a nights hunting. I was also surprised to see the pellets energy rise as the air pressure reduced over the last couple of mags. Having only returned to shooting around a year ago, I'm still a newbie with a lot to learn. The amount of info out there can be mind boggling. I put this us up for anyone that may also be looking for simplified info on this particular subject. I've also attached a pic of what I was shooting at so that you can see the slight drop in point of impact over the last 5 shots. Atb. Jon Edited March 31, 2016 by Jonjon79 2 Quote Link to post

Jonjon79 13,354
Cheers guys. Glad you like it. The only thing that I forgot to add was that the service from Adrian and Mandy at A&M was first class. I've been thinking about trying a lighter pellet for hunting. I might have another bash at this with regular Exacts or FAPs on my next day off. Quote Link to post

You would be better of with AA express or jsb Express in .177 or .22 for that matter FAP are very good in .22 ,haven't had much luck with them in .177 Quote Link to post

Jonjon79 13,354
I tested a couple more pellets today - JSB Exact 8.44gr and, H&N Baracuda Hunter Extreme 9.57gr. I didnt clean the barrel between pellets but, I did put a couple of mags of each through before testing....... Quote Link to post
Jonjon79 13,354
The exacts were fast and accurate over 30yrds/7 mags averaging around 765fps but, their power was low at an average around 11ftlb. Quote Link to post
Jonjon79 13,354
The Baracudas were a surprise. Accurate again. These averaged around 735fps over 7 mags. Their power averaged around 11.55ftlb. I think these could be a worthy contender but, I'd like to see how they perform at longer ranges first. ..... I'll be using the old faithful JSB Heavies tonight. Edited April 7, 2016 by Jonjon79 Quote Link to post
