pianoman 3,589
Nope, no bumps and not having a larf. I love my Daystates, find them super accurate and very very reliable. Haven`t had any issues with either of mine and wouldn`t consider anything else after owning the Mk2is Thats the difference, you hardly ever hear anyone reward a company when they get a good working product ( because thats how it should be, working that is) but fluck do you here when someone doesnt get a working one for what ever reason. Human nature I'm afraid Durham John. But nice to read Rake loves his Daystate Mk.2 is. For myself I must admit I almost broke down in tears when I found my brand new, out-of-the-box Regal was shooting; with such low power as you could visibly see the pellet wheezing its way to the target. The bolt was so stiff I had a blistered palm trying to cycle it in the hope it would smooth out with use and the barrel shroud was loose and rattling. But, after a lot of perseverance, being conned, it must be said, by certain members of the RFD trade and not hurling it in the skip, I have a beautiful addition to my air rifle collection and it's staying put with me, after going off to Andy's man to have a regulator made for it. Then, I believe it will be turned the supergun it ought to have been from the start. ! It is one incredibly accurate rifle and looks a work of art. But Daystate have done themselves no favours with this rifle in production and you can't blame anyone for running a mile from it, after reading mine and Villaman's experiences with our Regals as they arrived on day one. I'm surprised Mike you haven't gone for the new HW110. This looks to be an astonishing field hunting air rifle. Not that your HW100 .177 will be anything remotely shabby though! ;) 3 Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Simon I picked up that baby for £690, the 110 best price I could find was £645 and that involved a round trip on over 200 miles! This way round trip 40 miles to a little place just down the road from you, Country Sporting Guns at Punchbowl Lane, Boston! The 100 is made of metal, lots of plastic in the 110, also no all wood stocks as yet and I do like my walnut, albeit without CNC marks. The 100 also has more shots per magazine. I am lazy and hate fumbling round trying to load .177 pellets in the dark! But the gun is firing at a steady 11.7 using Daystate Heavies (JSB Heavies) and has so far bagged 1 kitt and 2 pigeons. Just waiting on my studs now! Edited March 24, 2016 by secretagentmole 1 Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Here is a photo of the CNC milling marks on the stock. Just poor damned quality control by the factory again! Quote Link to post
Durham John 693
Mike, does this mean the galatians are in the cupboard for a while then? be interesting to see your thoughts between the two 1 Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
I have had an email back from Hans Weihrauch himself (hey they don't mess about do they?). He wants the stock back to look at it as he believes this was not down during manufacture (I can assure him it was). So I have asked for a new walnut stock to be sent to me and I can swap them over and send the poorly finished one back! Quote Link to post

I know you should not be doing this to a new rifle but it would of been quicker than all the faff of waiting for a new stock then having to send the other back . Just hope its not costing you to send the marked one back atvbmac  Quote Link to post

secretagentmole 1,701
Mole What's the rfd had to say about it It's brand new ? Atb Dave It is brand new, the RFD says it has to go back to Hull Cartridge and given their reputation unless the mechanism goes belly to the sky then I want to keep the gun. All I want is a replacement stock. Quote Link to post
