mattwhite 1,993
Well having finally got used to range estimation with the Nite site and what was seemingly a calm night i had a wander round the top field on my local farm perm. On arrival its WAY more exposed than my back garden and properly blustery but no worries, i wanted to give it a go anyway. No 50 plus yarders tonight, just a bit of sensible downwind approaches and took these three from between 32 and 40 yards. 2 Quote Link to post
vizlauk 1,568
Good result ; how do you get on with your nitesite ; being thinking about getting a viper but I'm unsure. Quote Link to post
mattwhite 1,993
Its a nice bit of kit. Its only the 50 so really a tracer ir 400 seperate illuminator would help for spotting but battery life is good, image quality and clarity are great and now im comfortable with it i will be using it more pal. My mate has the viper and swears by it. Quote Link to post

The image quality/distance is improving all the time with all Night Vision equipment. Nite Site gun mounted systems take a bit of getting used to for some people because you are looking at a screen and not through the scope, however, they offer decent enough images for most applications and at a competitive price (within the ridiculously inflated general Night Vision price structures). 1 Quote Link to post
The one 8,398
Nice going mate , the battery on the stock not make it heavy though ?. Quote Link to post
mattwhite 1,993
Nice going mate , the battery on the stock not make it heavy though ?.Yes a bit, even though its the slimmed down version, hence why most of my shooting with it will be a sit and wait for the bunnies to come from the warrens rather than carrying it.It was an impulse purchase to be honest pal, because as the evenings start getting lighter, it wont get much use till autumn again. mattwhite 1,993
How much would that set up cost about mattI bought the NS50 off gunstar for £200 last November but i think an extra illuminator is essential and you can pick a tracer 400 up new for £60.From memory the viper is more like £400 new so its swings and rounabouts really pal 1 Quote Link to post
Lloyd57 98
I've got the NS50 and the Viper, the battery on the Viper is a lot lighter that the one on the NS50,they are both excellent units. Regards Lloyd Quote Link to post
