villaman 9,982
Cheap and nasty lads , don't waste your money on one of those , and not very accurate at all , better to take your gun to your rfd , and ask them to chrono it for you, or ask if any or the lads live near that would do it That's just my opinion of them ! Atb Sorry Dave but you are wrong IMO ,they are just as accurate as any of the top range chronographs , I have had them tested with others and came out spot on 1 Quote Link to post
villaman 9,982
Thanks jonnie, I think a range finder would be a better piece of kit to get before a chrono? What chrono? The over muzzle kind? Sorry mate ,a chronograph is more important than a range finder , It can tell you a lot more than a range finder and will keep you on the right side as well Quote Link to post
David.evans 5,323
Or the dark side if it's wrong Quote Link to post
villaman 9,982
Dave have you had a bad experience with the crombo ? Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
I would get a .177 mate, then the pellet will have killed them before they had chance to see it coming but good grouping pal. 2 Quote Link to post

charlie caller 3,654
Yes Mac, but you know it makes sense 1 Quote Link to post
jonnie bravo 572
Yes I agree but is it accurate? That's the most important question Atb I thought you were the one saying it wasn't accurate? Or have I got the wrong end of the stick? Quote Link to post
Coypu Hunter 486
Is this one? Also another quick question, I just started trying out some H&N FTT 5.53 and they're tight! Very tight. Does consitant seating improve accuracy as its quite hard to seat them flush in the TX200. Does the tight fit reduce FPS? I shot twice at two crows just now, and they both had flown off from the firing noise by the time the pellet hit branches right behind them. About 50metres. JSB and AA field fly much faster I'm thinking? Have you tested the H&Ns at every hunting range you're likely to shoot at? You may find that they drop off more or less quickly then the pellets you're used to, hence the misses. Measure out ranges at five-yard intervals, then test the pellet drop at each range, and make a note of it. If you're shooting at long range (i.e. 50m with a springer) then the drop-off is pretty rapid. Get a rangefinder if you plan on shooting at those ranges regularly -- five yards either way makes a big difference to point of impact on what is a pretty small target. Nice groups, by the way. 1 Quote Link to post
David.evans 5,323
I've had one and got rid , to much inconsistent with it Done my air wolf at home , and then took it to my rfd , and there was 18/20 fps difference over 10 shots , And I would have thought that the rfd's one was more accurate than mine , purely because of what he does ! May be I got a bad un Atb Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
Never had a problem with mine, and when tested against a very expensive (cant recall the name) that a mate had, it was bang on the money every time. 1 Quote Link to post
VWman 232
My combro works fine and I had a new rifle go over and the shop chrono showed the same. Zim I can only get out to 30 mtrs with my back to shed wall standing resting and when I get all the group through the raggy hole where the bull was in the paper target I will then increase the distance another 10 to 15 mtrs and if I can get them all in the bull then that will be good enough for me with my break barrel springer. I started off using H&N field target trophy and the work real well for me but found them expensive and hard to find so I went onto RWS super dome and find they work very well in all four rifles.
