J_Edwards 70
I've always been of the opinion that nobody does anything for the benefit of others, whether they be a Conservative politician, or a liberal-left protester. Believe me, the liberal-left, anti-racism, anti-sexism, anti-homophobia, anti-poverty groups have a very strong presence in British universities, and there's a big social side, with lots of kudos and social advantages to being a member of one. Then there's the feeling of being in a position of moral superiority, what lot's of people crave. There are lots of sad little people out there who latch onto groups like this to give their life some sort of meaning, and a sense of actually belonging to something. They're smashing things up because it's what they want to do, not because they're trying to prove a political point, they're just disguising it as if they're trying to make a difference. Although it may seem a loaded answer, the only politician that I think genuinely wants to make things right is Nigel Farage, not just screw it as much as they can, and make inoffensive decisions to try to pave their way to the next election.
